Previously, the episode open having swords being forged from shackles. We heard Spartacus commanding his men to make sure the Romans are being fed properly. But without Spartacus knowing, his men treated the Romans as brutally as what they had been through from the Romans before. We also witnessed how Crixus let the baker and the Roman battled for a piece of bread. Whoever wins will have the bread. The baker won the fight maybe because of the fact that the other Roman chosen to fight don't have any idea on how to fight itself. When the baker was about to reach that piece of bread, Naevia sliced his hand thinking he was about to reach the sword to attack Crixus. Naevia can be seen as a cruel one because of the experiences she had in the hands of Roman way back before.
On the other hand, Pirates had arrived in Spartacus encampment in which this Pirate's leader told Spartacus as brother and the Romans as enemy.
